Early Intervention* is a program that provides services to children from birth to age three who have, or are at risk of having a developmental disability. Services are provided at no cost to the family of eligible children.

Our Early Intervention* program is funded and regulated by the New York State Department of Health and, in New York City, by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, in Westchester County by the Westchester County Department of Health, Suffolk County by the Suffolk County Department of Health, Nassau County by the Nassau County Department of Health, in New Jersey by the New Jersey Early Intervention* Program and the New Jersey State Department of Health.
TheraCare's Early Intervention* program offers a full array of evaluations and services designed to maximize the full potential of each child. Parents and family members are encouraged to participate in partnership with the interventionist team to enhance their child's development.
By providing home/community-based services, TheraCare can focus on the opportunities that exist within the family structure to enhance the child's development. Our success is contingent upon early identification and the provision of services to children with special needs at the earliest possible age. How do I refer my child for an Early Intervention* Evaluation?
If you have concerns about your child's development, you can call your county's Early Intervention* program from the list below to refer your child. Someone else can help you make the referral to the Early Intervention* Program if you wish. If your child is found to be eligible for services by someone approved to perform this evaluation, you, the county staff, and other team members will make a plan to help your child and your family.
